Show Charles Warnick Receives Award For Cattle Herd Charles W. Wamlck, Pleasant Grove, has qualified for the Progressive Pro-gressive Breeders' Award the highest recognition attainable by a breeder of registered Holstein cattle, i The Holstein-Friesian Association Associa-tion of America has accorded this honor to only 408 Holstein breeding breed-ing establishments, including 4 in Utah. This is the fourth time Mr. Warnick has Deen so recognized. To qualify for the Progressive Breeders Award, a Holstein breeder bree-der must meet strict requirements in all phases of dairy cattle breeding bree-ding and management, including production, type improvement, herd health and the development of home-bred animals. The Warnick herd completed its latest Herd Improvement Registry Reg-istry testing year with a lactation lacta-tion average 'calculated on two makings a day, 305 day, mature equivalent basis on 30 individual records of 13,415 lbs of milk and 534 lbs. of butterfat. The herd has also been officially offic-ially classified for type with an average score of 82.9. The current award is based on a herd of 58 .animals of which 36 have freshened. Thirty-three of these were bred and developed on the Warnick farm. A certificate of this award has been sent to Mr. Warnick by the Holstein-Friesian Association of America, national organization of the Holstein breed representing over 50,000 members. A bronze year plate will be presented pre-sented to him at a meeting of Holstein breeders from his area, to be added to the bronze plaque awarded when this herd first achieved the honor. |
