Certain philosophers of athiestic turn of mind, assert that mankind, man-kind, due to his unbalanced personality, per-sonality, will eventually destroy himself; and that a new being of more stable mentality will be evolved evol-ved on the earth. They contend that greed, selfishness, desire for power, and the other baser elements ele-ments of the human being will ultimately bring about his own destruction. With the coming of Spring, the subtle creative forces of Nature become increasingly manifest. The grass puts forth its tender leaves, and the trees awaken from their Winter sleep. Soon the countryside coun-tryside will be resplendent with the whites and pinks of the opening open-ing fruit buds. April is the month of awakening awaken-ing of prophecy of glorious days to come, and the promise of bounteous boun-teous harvests just a few short months away. As the constructive plans of a wise Creator go into operation and the forces of Nature begin again their creative cycle; we are forcibly for-cibly made aware of the wisdom of God, and the stark reality of our own abject stupidity. A day scarcely passes but that we learn of the newest engines of destruction, destruc-tion, lethal grem-laden vapors, and radioactive horrors that man has contrived for the destruction of his fellow man. Whether we like it or not, we are fast becoming the victims of a Frankenstein of our own creation. crea-tion. Scientists now predict that atomic bombs may soon be constructed con-structed so powerful, that they may not be safely exploded any place on earth. In simple terms, this means that civilization will soon hold within its hands the in- Fatalistic attitudes of this kind are readily understandable in the face of what has happened since the tragedy of Hiroshima'. It all seems so pitifully unnecessary however, since every human soul is born into the world with the power pow-er of self-determination and the right of free-agency. Nothing is wrong with Nature. The creative and beneficial purposes pur-poses of God are as powerful now, as at any time since the Creation. Crea-tion. We simply have worked against them, rather than with them. There is still time for civilization civiliza-tion to save itself. However salvation sal-vation when it comes, must be earned and created by constructive efforts in harmony with the plans of the divine Creator. So long 'til Friday. |
