American Fork "Shoe-box" "Shoe-box" last Friday night. The win was number six for the Crump-men Crump-men in the current Region VII league scramble. At American Fork the Vikings jumped into an early lead and ran their score to 15-4 early in the second sec-ond quarter in what threatened to be a runaway. But the Cavemen Cave-men had other ideas as Sherman Harris and Peter Scholes combined combin-ed with a series of sizzling set shots and layups to push the Fork-ers Fork-ers within a one-point margin late in the first half. The Cavemen knotted the score at 20-20 as the second half opened, open-ed, only to lose their scoring punch temporarily when Scholes fouled out with four minutes left in the 3rd quarter. But Bob Monson picked up the scoring reins for the Cavemen in a gallant bid to upset the favored Vikings. The score was knotted ag-ain at 40-all and 42-all before Pleasant Grove mushroomed to a final five-point lead. Monson came out as high point man for the game with 14 points while Glen Hales collected 13 for the winners. The Vikings draw a bye in league |
