Show ELEMENTARY SCHOOL NEWS Serving the Grovecrest Student Council for the month of February are Mary Ann Swenson, president; John Thompson, vice president; Douglas "Wamiek, secretary and Marja Cullimore, treasurer. Other officers are Dewey Bell, Alan Banks, Sandra Green, Christine Ross, Jay Raundy, Laura Ellis, Judith Ju-dith Adams and Russell Boyer. They have chosen for the theme of the month, "Respect for the Rights of Others." ESN On Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. the combined 4 th, 5th and 6th rades presented a patriotic program pro-gram for the students of Grove-crest Grove-crest School. All the children were thrilled by the singing of patriotic songs and the story of the flag portrayed por-trayed so well by the classes. The teachers are to be commended highly for the excellent production and the children for their fine participation. par-ticipation. ESN The sixth grade teacher, Walter Brock, is still at the Utah Valley Hospital recuperating from a serious ser-ious illness. He is improving steadily stead-ily however, and Grovecrest students stu-dents and teachers hope he can be back with them soon. ESN The party for all children of the Grovecrest School, whose birthdays come in February will be held Friday, Fri-day, Feb. 14 during the noon period. per-iod. A beautiful calendar has been made by Mrs. Rose Radmall and the children are anxiously awaiting the special treat that is always furnished by the lunch workers. ESN The combined Fifth grade students stu-dents of Central School will hold a Valentine Day Party Friday, February 14, beginning at 1:45 p.m. Dancing, a program -and refreshments refresh-ments are planned. Six room mothers moth-ers will assist. ESN The annual evening Valentine Social for the Oentral School Sixth Graders will be held Thursday, Feb. 13 from 6 to 8 -p.m. Entertainment Entertain-ment will include dancing, a. floor show and refreshments. ESN Officers iand room mothers of the Central School PTA will fur-a fur-a Valentine Day treat for all the boys and girls on Friday, Feb. 14. ESN Lorn a Jean Mayoock, popular Sixth Grade teacher at Central School will be married on Friday, February 14 in the Salt Lake Temple. The groom is Dean Larson, Lar-son, Orem. Miss Maycock's Sixth Grade girls will serve at the evening wedding reception the same day. The affair will be held at the Lake View Ward chapel. ESN Central School's first immunization immun-ization clinic will be held on Thursday, Thurs-day, February 20 at 9 a.m. Polio shots will be given to pre-school children, parents, and all other students who desire them. |
