Show Water Prospects Improved With Snow Measure According to a snow depth and water content made in the American Am-erican Fork Canyon area on Jan. 21), pnspects for a normal I960 water supply have improved considerably. con-siderably. In the tabulations lasted below of snow depths and water content con-tent at the various elevations the first figure is for 1960, the second for 19I9 anil the third is the all-time all-time average. Snow depth, 20.2, 11.7 and 21.0. Water content 6.35, 2.7 and 6.0. Altamount, elevation 7,300 ft. Snow depth, 38.1, 15.7 and 38.4. Water content 9.11, 3.4 and 11.4. Timpanogos Divide, elevation 8,200 ft. Snow depth 42.2, 22.7 and 52.3. Water content, 10.25, 5.1 and 16.2. Thrse figures indioate that at every station snow depth and water content are above the same date last year, but are still below be-low the all-time average. Walker, superintendent, two feet cf snow fell at Timpanogos Caxe area with a water content of almost an inch. |
