Show MothersStudyClub Enjoys Program Last Thursday An intensely interesting program pro-gram was enjoyed by the Mothers Moth-ers Study Club at their bi-monthly meeting last Thursday at the home of Mrs. J. M. Macfar-lane. Macfar-lane. President Arvilla Harvey presided and conducted at the instance of Mrs. Emma Overlade program chairman, Mrs. Lucille Walker introduced two writers of distinction, Dr. LeRoy Hafen and his wife, Ann Woodbury Hafen. This gifted husband and wife team, renowned writers of western west-ern -history, gave excerpts from their latest book, "Handcarts to Zion." For the past five years Dr. Hafen has been with the History Dept of the Brigham Young University. Un-iversity. He and his wife came to the university from Colorado, where for many years he was State Historian and head of the Colorado Historical Society. The Club voted again to sponsor spon-sor a girl to Utah Girls State. They voted also to select a - girl to compete as their representative representa-tive for Strawberry Days Queen. The hostess served a delicious tray luncheon assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Jay Macfarlane. |
