Mr. Orville Gunther answers the question by stating that warm air perimeter heating has proved to be the most successful and popular method. He says that Lennox Per-ima-flo Heating is a refinement of the perimeter method. It releases warm, filtered air under the windows win-dows and along outside walls . . . a curtain of conditioned air protects pro-tects room occupants from outside weather. The same applies to cool air during the warm seasons. In regard to cost, Mr. Gunther says that a Perima-flo air distribution distrib-ution system costs no more than ordinary systems. He adds that, when the Perima-flo heating system sys-tem is installed, a "package" air conditioning unit can be added or an empty cooling cabinet can be installed with the heating and cooling cool-ing mechanism added to the cabinet cab-inet later. The cost to add cooling for an entire average house would cost no more than about three room air conditioners. Mr. Gunther adds that a central heating and cooling system retains its value for many years while delivering health and comfort benefits to the home. An investment in proper heating and cooling, he says, is more beneficial bene-ficial and lasting than most other things the average American buys. Compared with an automobile, for instance, the home comfort system retains almost 100 per cent of its value while the car loses almost 100 per cent of its value in six or seven years.
