FFA Queen to Compete Friday for Sweetheart Title at State Convention in Salt Lake City Friday and Saturday, Marilyn Swenson, FFA .Sweetheart of the Pleasant Grove chapter will go to the state FFA convention in Salt Lake City to compete for the title of FFA State Sweetheart. Sweet-heart. She will compete with the chapter sweethearts from all over ov-er the state of Utah. Attending the convention with Marilyn will be Connie Fugal, Nancy Smith and Jackie Noble, hs.r attendants. Chapter members are also planning to go to the state convention along with their chapter adviser, Willis Banks. The local FFA chapter has been engaged in numerous events recently. Their entry in public speaking took second and third in parliamentry procedure contests con-tests of area three. Representing ;the chapter was Grant Richards in public speaking and LeRoy Jacklin, DaiTel Fautin, Earl Woolley and David Smith in parliamentary par-liamentary procedure. Ten schools in Utah, Wasatch and Juab counties comprise area three. All ten entered the public speaking contest and there were seven entries in parliamentary procedure. Grant Richards spoke on "Performance "Per-formance Testing in Beef Cattle" in winning second place. Last Saturday following the contest the FFA area meeting was held .and competition for foundation awards staged. Competing Com-peting for Pleasant Grove were Grant Richards, Lenn Anderson and Clint Gillman. |
