Milton Adamson and Mrs. Karl Banks, auxiliary president. Mrs. Banks made cake. Legion Dinner Party March 17 Celebrates Organization Birth Legionaires and Ladies of the Pleasant Grove Post and Unit 70 celebrated the birthday of the American Legion last Thursday with a dinner party at the local House of Pizza Restaui'ant. Commander Com-mander J. Milton Adamson was in charge of the enjoyable affair, assisted by unit president Mrs. Karl Banks. Special guests were Mrs. Wesley Wes-ley J. (Sadie) Beck, unit 70 past president and Pleasant Grove's Mother of the Year, and District Commander Lloyd Evans of Spanish Span-ish Fork. In the principal address of the evening, Commander Evans spoke of the numerous national and community services rendered by the Legion since its organization in France in 1919, following the close of World War I. Mrs. Banks also spoke briefly, calling attention to the duties and responsibilities of American citizenship. citi-zenship. She paid tribute to Mrs. Beck with a quote from Pericles. "Fix your eyes on the greatness great-ness of your country day by day. Fall in love with her and when you feel her greatness, remember remem-ber it was won by men and women wo-men of courage." Invocation was offered by Mrs. Thelma Adamson, Unit 70 Chaplain and Mrs. Reva Ahman led in singing the National Anthem, An-them, accompanied by Irwin Jensen. Jen-sen. A barber shop quartet representing repre-senting the Central Utah Chapter Chap-ter of Barber Shop Quartets of America, entertained the group following the Virginia-baked ham dinner. The singers were Clyde Pyper of Pleasant Grove, and Jerry Jer-ry Maxfield, Beck Clark and Jolin Fechser of Provo. Those present not previously mentioned were Lloyd and Wanda Gray, Messrs and Mesdames Glen Matthews, Burton H. Adams, Earl Loader, Virgil Turner, A. B. Gibson, Gib-son, Viron Washburn, W. J.
