The Tigers were out and a runnin' last Friday afternoon on the Orem High School footbidl field. Before the 48 minutes of not playing time ran out a game and fighting crew of Viking's gave way to the yellow-shirted Cats 37 to 0. According to the "experts" it was the strong and agile Oram line that threw back the charges of the PG forwards and enabled the fleet Tiger backs to eat up large chunks of yardage-. Gary Shumway, Lee Bunnell, Dave Thompson, Paul Craig and Glen Bullock are already touted as some of the best pigskin tot-ers tot-ers in the Class A ranks for 1959. The Tigers made the most of their hay in the first quarter with Bunnell, Bullock and Craig scoring sixpointea-s. Two conversions conver-sions brought the initial canto up to a score of 20. The Vikes were very much in the game after the first frame and held the rampaging Oats to 7-7-3 respectively for each of 'the remaining three quarters. Coach Jim Ditty's boys made their lone serious scoring threat of the game in the second period. Led by Eddie Lewis and John Lott, who were thorns in the paws of the Tigers all af ternoon, the Vikings moved the ball down to the Onem seven. A stiffened Tiger defense withered the drive on the vine just as the gun barked at the half. A pass interception ended another an-other strong Viking drive early in the third quarter and that was that.
