Show Timpanogos Cave Trip Sponsored By Recreation Dept. The city recreation-sponsored excursion to Timpanogos Cave Monday was very successful, according ac-cording to Jeanette Shannon, assistant as-sistant director. Forty-odd children, child-ren, ages 7 to 13 made the trip by bus, and were guided through the cave by Supervisor Thomas Walker. Walk-er. Another Cave outing is scheduled schedul-ed for next Monday, for the same age groups and any parents of the children who would like to go along. Handicraft classes are going forward for-ward daily from 9:00 to 11:00 a. m. The girls are making yam dolls; and the boys are busy with Leathercraft. A nature hike has been scheduled schedul-ed next week for all handicraft students. The children will go by bus to Grove Creek and Battle Creek canyons; and will spend a few hours securing material for the classes in woodcraft, which will be introduced soon. The enlarged Wednesday dancing danc-ing enrollment has necessitated dividing the class into three sections sec-tions Beginners at 2:00; Inter-, mediate at 3:00; and advanced at 4:00 p. m. Character, National, and social dancing are being taught. Larger groups of children are currentely enjoying the swimming activities on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, Miss Shannon said.' |
