Show Scholarships Await Worthy Students At Brigham Young A large number of scholarships for college tuition is awaiting worthy wor-thy students interested in attending attend-ing Brigham Young University, it was announced today by Dr. Arthur Ar-thur Browne, chairman of the BYU scholarship committee. The university has invited graduates grad-uates or members of graduating classes of high schools and junior colleges over the nation to apply for scholarships before May 1. Dr. Browne said they are not confined to students of Utafi. or any other area since BYU is an international school. The awards represents amounts of $150, $100, and $50 which apply directly on the student's tuition for one, two, or three quarters of university enrollment. Four types of awards are available: avail-able: 1. Scholarships by the university for high school seniors on the basis of scholarship, character, and leadership. 2. Scholarships by the university for junior college graduates on the basis of scholarship, chracter, and leadership. 3. Achievement awards by the university for demonstrated ability abil-ity to high school and junior college coll-ege graduates on the basis of outstanding out-standing leadership in such activities activ-ities as music, debate, art, drama, science, etc. 4. Private cash awards by friends of the university, such as professional individuals, clubs, stakes, business firms, societies, and families for recognition of promising students in certain schols for various fields of academic aca-demic study, contest prizes, etc. Application forms may be obtained ob-tained from high school principals and junior college presidents or from the Chairman of the Scholarship Schol-arship Committee, Brigham Young University, Provo, Utah. |
