Show Gary Swenson Funeral Rifes Held On Wed. Very touching and impressive funeral rites were conducted on Wednesday at 1 p.m. In the Lindon Ward chapel for Garry Swenson, who died Sunday In a 2-car collision. collis-ion. Bishop Legrande Ercanbrack was in charge. Invocation was of-ferred of-ferred by Anthony Armstrong, and was followed by an organ solo "Meditation", by Mrs. Virginia Young. Speakers who paid tribute to the family and offered words of sympathy, sym-pathy, hope and faith were Alroy Gillman, former bishop of Lindon, Donna O. Ash, and Dover Hunt of the Orem stake presidency. Musical numbers interspersing the speakers were a vocal solo, "That Little Boy of Mine" by Warren P. Kirk accompanied by Virginia Young, and a duet, "Call Me" by Mrs. Ellen Peterson and Mrs. Mary Gay Abraham, with Donna Bird accompanying. Closing remarks of sympathy and encouragement were made by Bishop Ercanbrack and the closing clos-ing musical number was a vocal duet "Life's Sunset," by Nadine and Wilma Hales, accompanied by their mothher, Mrs. Norma Hales. Leon Walker of the Lindon bishopric, bish-opric, pronounced the benediction. Internment, directed by Olpin Mortuary was made in the Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove City Cemetery, where the dedicatorial prayer was offered offer-ed by Eldon Swenson, an uncle. Pallbearers, cousins of Garry, were Keith Bringhurst, Max Longfellow, Long-fellow, Paul Swenson. Ray Dell York. Lindon ward Relief Society arranged ar-ranged the flowers. Garry, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph A. Swenson, Lindon, died Sunday evenig when the car driven driv-en by his father and another one driven by Robert Lee Millring, 18, American Fork collided. The accident ac-cident occurred in Manila. Six others were injured in the accident, including Colleen Swenson, Swen-son, 15, leg fracture; Lorna Gill-man, Gill-man, face lacerations; Patsy Swenson, 10, head lacerations and brain concussion. All were passengers pass-engers in the Swenson auto. Hurt in the, Millring coupe were the driver, internal injuries; Joan Swenson, Lindon, a cousin of Gary, head lacerations and shock, and Merlin Gaisford, 19, American Fork, arm cuts. Gary was hurled from the car and crushed when it rolled on him. The child was born April 30, 1947, at Lindon, a son of Joseph and Mary Adams Swenson. He is survived by his parents and three sisters, Colleen, Patricia and Jo-Lynn Jo-Lynn Swenson, all of Lindon, and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. John Adams, Pleasant Grove. |
