Show Increase Shown In Enrollment At P. G. High School opened at Pleasant Grove High School this week with registration reg-istration of students Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. An assembly as-sembly was held for all students (as many as could get in the auditorium) aud-itorium) at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. All teachers and student officers were individually introduced to the group. Each teacher was asked to make a wish for the school year. Most of the wishes were built a-round a-round the theme of greater cooperation coop-eration on the part of everyone, students and teachers for a better bet-ter school year. Two student body officers of last year, Lynn Paulson, student body president, and Floyd Hiltoij, senior class representative, were on hand to help "bridge" last school year and this one. Each spoke briefly on that theme. Principal Holm spoke briefly on school spirit. With the exception of a few problems that will be quickly ironed iron-ed out, the school year is off to a good beginning. It is a little early to tell exactly what the total enrollment will be, but it will likely be about forty to fifty students more than last year, which should stabilize it at about 640 to 650 as compared to a maximum enrollment of 607 last year. About one or two more increases in-creases of that kind and we will be In real trouble for even bigger space, Principal Holm said. |
