Show "Elmer the Great" Is Presented On Steel Show Ring Lardner's hilarious baseball base-ball saga, "Elmer the Great," starring Eddie Bracken and Wanda Wan-da Hendrix, comes to "The Theatre Thea-tre Guild on the Air" . I ' J 1 J In a coast to coast tribute 'saluting the U-nited U-nited Red Feather Fea-ther Fund campaign, cam-paign, the U. S. Steel Hour will present the razzle - dazzle laugh riot with Bracken tier- Eddie Bracken forming in the title role as a lovable but eccentric eccent-ric ball player, who scores a huge success by sheer numbskullery. Bracken, a theatrical performer since the age of four, is making his debut on "The Theatre Guild on the Air." Among the many films in which the popular comedian com-edian has been seen are "Miracle of Morgan's Creek," "Too Many Girls" and "We're Not Married." Miss Hendrix, portraying Elmer's Elm-er's girl friend, Nellie, has appeared appear-ed in "Welcome Stranger," with Bing Crosby, "Prince of Foxes," "Ride the Pink Horse" and "The Highwayman." The original Broadway production product-ion of "Elmer the Great," starring the late Walter Huston, was produced pro-duced by the late George M. Cohan in collaboration with Lard-ner. Lard-ner.
