Show iBaifle Creek Breeze 1 BY K. B. Karl Marx, the father of Russian Rus-sian Communism once said, "Do not believe in words; only fools believe in mere words." The leaders of the free democracies democ-racies may well keep this statement state-ment in mind, as we struggle to live in the same world with Joe Stalin and the athiestic hordes who blindly follow his dictation. Treaties, agreements, and promises prom-ises mean nothing to the communists; commun-ists; except as signs of fear, weakness, or concession on the part of the free peoples. This Marxian philosophy is so foreign to our way of life that it is difficult for us to understand. The fundations of our liberty, based as they were on the Bill of Rights, are laid upon the confidence confi-dence that men have had in the words of their fellows. "We hereby promise;" "We mutually agree;" "As God is our witness;" have always been the sustaining pillars upon which our Christian civilization civiliza-tion has been built; and a free society can exist only so long as these bulwarks of trust and confidence con-fidence endure. During these dark days of chaos and uncertainty, when the souls of men are being tried to the utter limits of human endurance; we must not despair. Ours is the side of right, justice, and humanity; and this fact alone should give us stregth to endure whatever is our lot in toil, privation, priva-tion, or sacrifice. Our greatest strength comes from the trust and confidence we have in each other. If this trust remains unbroken, no enemy however how-ever strong can prevail against us. When the clouds of distrust and discouragement shut out the light of faith and understanding, let us never forget the promise of the Master: "For lo I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." So-long 'til Friday. |
