Show Girl's Faith In Convict Wins Him Freedom in Court BALTIMORE. Because of a girl's faith in a man, he got out of jail, but he must make restitution of money obtained by forgery. Criminal court judge Robert France suspended a 10-year prison sentence he had imposed on William J. Sansbury for forgery, forg-ery, placing him on probation for three years. The judge said j he was suspending the sentence I chiefly because of Peggy's faith in Sansbury. The two met while Sansbury was an inmate of Sari Quentin I prison where Peggy was an employe. em-ploye. They fell in love. When Sansbury was paroled he re- j turned to Maryland to face two- : year old forgery charges. Peggy took her life savings of $600 and I followed him here from San Francisco and pleaded for his release. Her plea was so eloquent, her faith in Sansbury so vast that the man she loved got his freedom. But they must not marry mar-ry for a year and Sansbury must pay back his forgery take. That was the judge's ruling. |
