Show Cadmus Club Entertains For Husbands The members of the Cadmus Club entertained their husbands at an inspirational meeting at the home of Geneve Dalton, Monday Mon-day evening, October 10. President Effie turned the meeting meet-ing over to Vice President Winni-frd Winni-frd Adamson, who welcomed the members of the club, their husbands, hus-bands, and their guest Grant Clyde. A resume of the club's theme and program "Highlighting America's Amer-ica's Greatness," was given by Carol Wells of the Educational Committee. At present the club is studying the Politicial Aspect of America's Greatness. : Carol Wells announced the following fol-lowing program: Geneva Gibson gave the inspirational thought. She read an article "What Is America" from the book "This Wonderful Country of Ours" written by Dr. Walter Johnson of the University of Chicago. Carol Jaynes played a recording "Ballad for Americans" sung by Paul Robeson, the negro basso. The Ballad was first heard Nov. 5, 1939, over the "Pursuit To Happiness" program. It is a ser-; man using a narrative history of United States as a burning symbol of freedom and democracy. It is a sermon against intolerance. I Grant Clyde, of the B. Y. U. Speech department gave an inspirational inspir-ational three act play. It was a stirring and appealing story of a Jewish family in New York City. The play left us with a desire to enjoy the great heritage we are blessed with in America. Lively refreshments were served to eighteen club members and their husbands. Geneve Dalton was as-sited as-sited by Rose Hillnian, who was ""Ct-h'ostess. The next club meeting will be held at the home of Carol Wells, October 24, at 8 p. m. |
