Show Soldier Loses Papers, Army Can't Decide on His Rank KOREA George Adrian of the First cavalry division is all mixed up. He doesn't know whether he is a lieutenant, a sergeant, or a corporal. cor-poral. A mortar platoon commander in the Pacific in World War II, he was discharged as a lieutenant. He left the University of South Carolina to re-enlist as a sergeant. But he lost his papers. The adjutant ad-jutant general ordered him reduced one rank until the papers were found. That brought Adrian up to the Korean war and Korea, where he is with a heavy mortar outfit,, as a corporal. Now Corporal Adrian hears from home that he may become an officer offi-cer again just as soon as he is recalled re-called to active service. |
