Show Eight-year Old Boy Injured in Canyon Dennis Thayne, eight year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest L. Thayne, Pleasant Grove, had a narrow escape from death Sunday Sun-day evening when he fell approximately approx-imately 100 feet from a ledge in American Perk canyon. He is in the hospital recovering recover-ing from a compound fracture of the skull and multiple cuts and bruises. The family with Jan and Gary Fisher, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Troy Fisher, American Fork, had gone to the canyon for the afternoon. The three boys were climbing the mountain near Hanging Rock camp when Dennis lost his footing, foot-ing, slid some distance over the rocks, fell to the side of the road and rolled onto the road. Traffic was stopped until he could be moved. The boy's head and shoulders took the brunt of the fall. Last report from the family stated that he was improving. |
