Through a nation-wide "Tide of Toys" post-Christmas move, spon-cored spon-cored by the American Legion Post of America, Utah kids will be asked to send one of their new Christmas toys and a letter to some less fortunate boy or girl in a European nation.. All 120 Utah Legion posts will participate in the drive, Clarence C. Neslen, Utah Department Commander Com-mander said. "This is a chance for Utah youngsters to show real generosity generos-ity to those who want so much and have so little," Mr. Nelson saied. "Most American kids have never bad to know what it meant to spend Christmas without a single toy. Just one toy from kids here who have so many would mean' everything to those kids over there." he added. Pleasant Gorve Post No. 70, S. W. Hilton, Commander, will cooperate co-operate with the Utah Department in this most worthy drive. Commander Hilton asks the cooperation co-operation of the people of this area in giving a toy for the toy-less toy-less kids of Europe. Under the program, toys will be collected by the local post. They then will be shipped to Europe to be distributed by CARE to children chil-dren in Great Britain, France, Belgium, Bel-gium, Italy, Holland, Norway, Germany, Ger-many, Austria, Greece, Czechosl-avakia Czechosl-avakia and Finland. The drive is now on, and S. W. Hilton, post commander will notify the kiddies where and when to bring their toys for overseas shipment.. |
