Show ill Senior Assembly The Senior class presented an assembly to' the school Friday, Feb. 11. The Senior sweetheart candidates were introduced. A skit was presented by a group, of girls. Musical numbers and jokes filled in the rest of the program. The program held everyone's interest in-terest and kept them laughing. Smoker The annual Pleasant Grove high school athletic carnival will be held Friday Feb. 25 in the Pleasant Grove gym. Opening he evening's events will be a basketball game between the Pleasant Grove all-stars all-stars arid the American Fork all-stars. all-stars. Immediately after the game will be s. number of boxing matches, match-es, to include: Dale Walker vs. Jack Carlson, 155 Leonard Carter vs. LeGrands Hoopes, 130. Bruce Clark vs Don Walker, 141 Doug Robinson vs Jay Shumway, 165. Boyd Minorv vs Bob Macfarlane 140 A battle royal will be held made up of 8th graders. After the matches there will be a girls basketball game and closing the events will be some girls' gymnastics. Grovettes defeat Lehi ' Up-to-date the Girls basketball team has been ndefeated. Last week they won from Lehi for the second time. The scores were- 22 to 12 and 14 to 5. If the Grovettes can keep this good record they will become district dist-rict winners. Popcorn The Senior girls are making candy can-dy and popcorn to sell at the annual an-nual Athletic carnival to be held next Friday, February 25. The money they make will be turned over to the boys to put in their athletic fund. Sweetheart Contest Last Monday at 2:30 the Sweet-! heart Contest ended. The Junior I Sweethearts, Vivian Naylor and Dale Thomas were the winners. Announcement of the winners was made at the Matinee Dance. Other contestants vicing for the honor were, Seniors: LaRue Faut-in, Faut-in, Norman Hall; Sophomores, Ruby Ru-by Jane Elsmore and Ronald Berr-ett. Berr-ett. Proceeds of the contest went to help finance the yearbook. Yearbook Show Thursday, Feb. 24, the Journalism Journal-ism class is going to sponsor another an-other movie to raise money for the yearbook. We haven't received any word on exactly what the name of the movie will be, but we are making j the promise that it will be really worth the students time to see the show. |
