Show Third Ward Will Present Three Act Comedy Under the able leadership of Mrs. Elma Fugal, the Third ward will present a three act comedy, entitled "Lena Rivers" in the Third ward Amusement Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings February 15 and 16, commencing at 7:30 p.m. The cast of characters includes, Lena Rivers, our adorable heroine, hero-ine, Myrle Pedersen; Granny Nichols, Nic-hols, her beloved grandmother, Barbara Horton; John Livingston, Lena's uncle, Phil Huggard; Mrs. Livingston, his wife, who has social so-cial ambitions, Nora Facfarlane; Caroline Livingston, who is an echo ec-ho of her mother, Nadine Neil-son; Neil-son; Anna Livingston, her sister, warm hearted and sincere, Anna Beth Atwood; John Junior, who is addicted to slang, Jay Paul; Frank Graham, a southern gentleman, Robert Holdaway; Mrs. Graham, his jealous wife, Amanda Wadley; Du'rward Belmont, her son by a former marriage, (Jim) Eugene Bezzant; Malcolm Everett, a tutor tut-or in the Livingston home, Bill Austin; Aunt Milly, a colored servant, ser-vant, Norma Bronson; Old Ceas-er, Ceas-er, a colored man servant who is always fixin to do it, John Fugal. Tho those of you have forgotten the story, it deals with the plight of young Lena Rivers and her be-compelled be-compelled to leave their New England home and seek refuse with Granny Nichols' son John, , who has changed the family name of Nichols to Livingston because of the social aspirations of his dominating wife. On this Kentucky plantation, Lena and Granny are subject ,to the sort of treatment that is usually us-ually handed out to poor .relations. .relat-ions. Mrs. Livingston and her daughter Caroline tremble with fear of the thought of their wealthy weal-thy friends reactions' to the awkward awk-ward country girl and her grandmother. grand-mother. Just at the crucial moment, fate steps in and proves our heroine's hero-ine's sterling worth, and the de-noument de-noument at the end of the play is startling indeed. |
