Show Lions Club Holds Meeting On Wednesday On Wednesday evening of this week the Pleasant Grove Lions and their partners had a very enjoyable en-joyable evening at the Grill Cafe. The meeting was in charge of President S. Christensen who appointed ap-pointed Lion Lealand A Clark as official Tailtwister for the evening, even-ing, who then kept the meeting in an uproar with his tailtwisting of the dignitaries as well as everyone every-one else present. The program was under the direction dir-ection of Harold Armitstead, as committee chairman and he was ably assisted in its preparation by Sam Jackson, Art Meredith and Vilace Radmall as committee members. mem-bers. The Misses Marcia Wadley, Pearl Beck, and Ardena Beck gave a very interesting report on their two weeks participation in Girls' State at the USAC at Logan last summer. The girls were sponsored at Girls State by various Women's organizations of Pleasant Grove. At the conclusion of these reports, re-ports, Miss Geraldine Thorne rendered ren-dered a piano selection which was followed by a detailed report of Boys' State at Camp Williams last summer by James Brimhall who was sponsored by the Pleasant Grove Lions club. All three of the girls and Jimmy expressed themselves them-selves as having greatly enjoyed their two weeks stays at the Boys and Girls State and at the same time learned much of value in organizing and conducting the functions of State, County, and City activities as presented at the two "States". After Jimmy's report, Alice, the small daughter of 'Lion and Mrs. A. J. Meredith sang a number and entertained with a tap dance. She was accompanied on the piano by her mother. Lion President Chris then gave a short report of the recent Zone Chairman's meeting at the Grill of the Lehi, American Fork, Orem and Pleasant Grove Presidents and Secretaries, relative to the winter activities of the four clubs which comprise this zone. The meeting adjourned with Lion Harry S. Richards leading in the salute to the flag. |
