Show PL. GROVE CITY TO DRILL WELL FOR CULINARY WATER Application is being presented to the State Engineer's office this week by Pleasant Grove City Corporation Cor-poration for permission to drill a 12-inch well to supplement the present culinary water supply, according ac-cording to Harvey Smith, Mayor, i Mayor Smith, members of the City Council, together with Roy I Fereday, field engineer for the state discussed the location for the new well Wednesday morning, and determined that the most feas. ' ible place to drill was just above the present water tanks, which would eliminate the cost of piping water from the well to the tanks. The matter of drilling a well at a lower level was discussed, and if j this was done, water could be pumped pum-ped into the lines, which would keep the pressure up in the lines and the water could possibly be forced into the tanks. However the cost of pumping water to the tanks in the first place would use the storage facilities already available av-ailable and also would keep the pressure up. From the success obtained at T.inHnn nnH Orpm it is nnite cer- tai that Pleasant Grove can sec-tire sec-tire a good amount of water at a depth of around 700 feet, with the water coming to within approximately approxim-ately 200 feet from the usrface. With the increasing population and growth of Pleasant Grove city the Council realizes the need for more water is steadily assuming greater and greater proportions, and feels that the drilling of a well will take care of these needs for the next several years, however how-ever the council has . in mind acquiring ac-quiring additional water from other oth-er sources also. |
