Show JOINT CQMMMtWTY . PROJECTS FLAMMED BY SERVICE CLUBS Through the leadership of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce Com-merce a plan is being undertaken to form a working organization of the various civic clubs of Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove to plan and carry out at least one joint community project pro-ject each year. Letters are being mailed by President Rex Gourley of the Pleasant Grove Chamber of Commerce Com-merce to heads of the civic and service clubs asking for their cooperation coop-eration in completing the organization. organ-ization. They are asking the Mayor of Pleasant Grove to cooperate in this matter, and also asking the cooperation coop-eration of the Federated Women's clubs to assist their husbands in carrying out the proposals. A joint meeting will be held in the near future. The following is the letter mailed to each organization, explaining the matter more fully. SUBJECT: Formation of a joint committee to Plan and Carry Out an Annual Cooperative Community Commun-ity Improvement Project in Pleasant Pleas-ant Grove. To: All Civic and Service Clubs. Gentlemen: Following a conference with the presidents of the respective service clubs of Pleasant Grove and upon the suggestion of several mem-T)ers mem-T)ers of those clubs, I am writing to you with the hope that the spirit and enthusiasm that has already al-ready been manifested by you will permit the organization of a joint committee representing the following follow-ing five service units: Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Junior Chamber of Commerce, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion of this community into a working organization with the hope in mind to plan and carry out at least one joint community improvement im-provement project annually. The following is a tentative operative op-erative basis for such a committee. Each respective club or unit would elect three of its members to represent rep-resent that particular club on the joint commitee. Suggestions could be submitted to this committee of three by the members of your organization or-ganization as to the project that it "would like to see sponsored by the joint committee. All suggestions from all service groups would then be submitted to the joint committee commit-tee for its consideration and choosing choos-ing of one particular project to be planned and executed by that joint committee. Moral and financial support would be given equally by the individual in-dividual groups for carrying out the above mentioned project selected sel-ected by the joint committee. The cost of each project selected would of course, be determined by our joint committee and support would be asked by that committee of the individual service groups. It is the desire of those who have been contacted that a committee com-mittee from each service unit meet jointly in the near future and organize or-ganize its body so that a project may be determined and carried out this year.
