Show First Ward Junior Girls Hold Rose Festival Under the leadership of Afton Miller the Junior Girls of the First ward Mutual held their annual Rose Festival on Tuesday evening, October 28 at the home of Mrs. Ileen Beck. The rooms were beautiful beaut-iful with fall flowers and candlelight. candle-light. The girls were attired in lovely formals of pastel colors and participating in the lovely affair with these girls were their mothers and both 'mothers and daughters were in 100 per cent attendance. The following program was planned plan-ned by the girLs and conducted by their class president, Shirleen Clark. Toast to the girls, Mrs. Ora Thorne. Response and Welcome Wel-come to mothers, Afton Miller. Violin duet, Shirleen Clark and Ardena Beck "Intermense Russ, accompanied by Pearl Beck. Opening Open-ing Prayer, Jerry Bradley. Presentation Pres-entation of Junior pins to incoming Junior girls, by older girls. Reading, Read-ing, "Little Brothers" by Patsy Anderson. Two Piano selections by Geraldine Thorne. Words of appreciation ap-preciation by Ileen Beck! Highlight of the evening was the Rose Ceremony. Each girl placed a rose of her selection into a vase and she did so she told W'hy she selected that particular rose, as her ideal, and what she hoped these ideals would mean in her future life. The complete.bouquet was then tied together by their leader, Mrs. Miller, indicating unity in their lives, and ideals. The roses were then pinned on each mother by her daughter. Closing prayer was offered by Carol Christensen. Games were played with much fun between motehrs and daughters. Refreshments were served by the girsl. Present at the delightful affair were the following Junior girls and their mothers.
