Show MANILA WARD HOLDS MAY FESTIVAL The May Festival of Manila. Ward Primary was held Monday afternoon at 3:30 p.m., President Jeanette Warnick presiding and conducting. Opening prayer was offered by Stake President Donna Ash. Sister Ash and Councilor Ardeana Atwood were present. Music was played by Councilor Gwen Adams. Special gifts were awarded to five primary- children and one teacher tea-cher who had 100 per cent attendance attend-ance during the year. The program opened with the entrance of the queen, Jacqueline Jacobs led by her two attendants, flower girls Judy Larson and iCrown bearjr JirnimJe Swenson. The queen was crowned by a guide, Ted Carlson. The four younger groups dramatized dram-atized Nursery rhymes, Jack be Nimble and Jack and Jill, 1st group Class Leader, Dorothy Carlson, Three Little Pigs, Second group, Class Leader, Gwen Larson, Little R.ed Riding Hood, Zions Boys and Gilrs, group 1, Class Leader, Thel-ma Thel-ma Freeman Three Billv Goats Zions Boys and Girls group IT, Class Leader, Nelda Warnick. The program continued with musical numbers by the Sons of the Pioneers and Bing Crosby, Pic and Pat and their nonsense, directed dir-ected and accompanied on the accordion by Maurine Allen, and concluded with the Three Roving Reporters, who put on a Truth or Consequences Act. Valuable prizes were won by the lucky contestants. The entertainment wag in the form .of a radio program under the direction dir-ection of Effie Adams and son Liston, Radio announcer and Trail Builders. As a climax the Home Builders danced the May Pole Dance. The mothers of the children were special guests. Benediction was offered by Lor-ena Lor-ena Warnick. Refreshments were served. |
