Show Funeral Held Monday For Rozella Wadley Impressive funeral rites were held Monday, November 26, in the 'First ward chapel for one of Pleasant Grove's most beloved woman, Mrs. Rozella E. Wadley, 83, who died Thursday morning at her home in Lindon. The services directed by Bishop AlRoy Gillman of the Lindon ward opened with a male quartet including in-cluding Ellis Hdldaway, Tayljor Allen, Kirby Allen and El wood Allen singing Jesus My Savior. They were accompanied by Mrs. Helen Allen. Invocation was offered by R. D. Wadley. Speakers were Patriarch D. B. Thorne, former Bishop of the Lindon Lin-don ward, who paid tribute to Mrs. Wadley for her great faith, and earnest support of those in authority and kind neighborliness. Junius A. West, among other things told of the fine teachings and examples he had always received re-ceived when as a child, he spent many happy hours with the Wadley Wad-ley children in their home. Albert Anderson chose as his text: "I am the Resurrection and the Life and He that Believeth in Me Shall Never Die." Bishop Gillman in his closing remarks expressed sympathy and appreciation for the family. Musical .numbers interspersing the speakers were: a cornet solo, O My Father, by Mary Sjobl.om, a granddaughter. She was accompanied accom-panied by Mrs. Donna Rankjn; a vocal duet, Face To Face, by Mrs. J. E. Hardman and Mrs. Leland Beers, accompanied by Mrs. B. Cobbley, and the closing number Softly, Tenderly Jesus Is Calling by the Male Quartet. Benediction was pronounced by Jos. Ash of the Bishopric. Prelude and. portlude organ music was played by Alzeda Welmott. Burial directed by Olpin Bros, took place in the -family plot in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, where J. E. Mickelson, a son in law offered- the graveside prayer. Pall bearers, grandsons of Mrs. Wadley, were Duane Sjoberg, Leland Le-land Wells, Wilford Harris, Eugene, Eug-ene, Howard, and Don Clegg. A daughter of John and Jane Oaakey Ennis, she was born Feb. 7, 1883, at Draper, Utah. On Dec. 31, 1884, she was maried to J. D. Wadley in the Logan Temple. Mr. Wadley died in 1933. After her marriage she made her home in Pleasant Grove until 1907, when the family moved to Lindon. She was a member of the Church of Jesus. Christ of Latter Day Saints and an active worker in the Relief Re-lief Society. Surviving are five daughters and two sons: Mrs. Hazel Bailey, Salt Lake City, Mrs. Mina W. Mikkelson, Draper, Mrs. Rbzila Harris, Orem, Mrs. Mary Clegg, Springville, Mrs. Belva Edwards, Wasco, Calif. J. D. Wiulley, and C Rief Wadley, Pleasant Grove; 22 grandchildren, six great grandchildren. grand-children. Five grand sons and one granddauaglher are in the service. Surviving also is a brother, broth-er, W. B. Ennis, Draper. |
