Show Ward Relief Societies Hold Conference Here A successful Relief Society conference con-ference was held in the Second ward hapel Sunday evening under the direction of Laura Robertson, second counselor to President Zella Peay. Several musical numbers were given by the ward Singing Mothers, led by Mrs. Pearl McMillan and accompanied ac-companied by Mrs. Viola Beers. An outline of the work to be taught in the various classes was given by class leaders: Eva Adams, social service; Sylvia Peterson, theology, the-ology, Myrtle Boren, teachers' topic, and Viola Beers, chorister. Mrs. May K. Walker, stake leader in the teacher's topic department, gave a message of encouragement to visiting teachers and suggested that they put forth special effort to induce in-duce younger women to join the association. as-sociation. She also mentioned that the matter of giving to the charity fund be represented as a privilege rather than a duty. Mrs. Hazel Dell Gillman was in charge of the Lindon ward Relief society conference held in the ward chapel Sunday evening. Two musical numbers were furnished furn-ished by the Singing Mothers, directed di-rected by Mrs. Mabel Tucker and accompanied by Mrs. Ruth Lovell. Resumes of lessons for the coming season were given by the various class leaders, Eve Thorne, teacher's topic; Hazel Fryer, theology; Viola Morton, literary; Kate Ash, work and business; and Ruth Lovell, social service. A report of the condition of thr ionization, with the sustaining o' iffciers was given by Mrs. Ed; "rlardman. Neil Y. Mrs. Thelma Adamson, president pre-sident of the organization, conducted the program. Featured as speaker was Mrs. Cora W. Atwood, Relief society president for the Timpanogos stake. She briefly outlined the course of study in 'the various departments for the coming year. In her remarks she said that the purpose of the theology lessons was to strengthen testimonies testimon-ies and build faith. Other speakers were Mrs. Hedve Christiansen, who was released from the position of chorister; Mrs. Laurel Lau-rel Scholes, who is the literary leader for the coming season; Mrs. Thelma Adamson; and Bishop Joseph Jos-eph Walker. Several selections were sung by the Singing Mothers directed by Mrs. Mary Neves, and accompanied by Mr.s Rose Young. Two vocal solos were presented by Mrs. Esther Bennett, Ben-nett, accompanied by Mrs. Mary Neves. The invocation was offered by Mrs. Larena Johnson, and the benediction by Mrs. Delilah Fugal. Mrs. Nettie Warnick, president of the Manila ward Relief society, conducted con-ducted the ward conference Sunday evening. Outlines of the lessons to be given this year were given by the class leaders, Mrs. Mary Monson, theology; theolo-gy; Mrs. Ellen Wadley, work and business, and nutrition; Mrs. Ortha Mecham, social service. In addition, Mrs. Manetta Gammntt of the stake Relief society board, outlined the study program in the literary division. divis-ion.
