Show American Fork News Briefs Two American Fork students at Brigham Young university made the winter quarter honor roll, according accord-ing to an announcement made by the registrar's office. The students are Miss Irene Giddings, a senior, and Miss Alice Clark, a sophomore. Sixteen hours of straight "A" grade is required, to qualify for the honor roll. r Meetings of the two local camps of Daughters of Utah Pioneers will be held Thursday, May 9, officers announced this week. The Adams camp will meet at the home of Mrs. Elizabeth Coddington, at 2 o'clock on that day. The meeting will feature a special Mother's day program, pro-gram, and the reading of the history his-tory of John Bourne. The Chad-wick Chad-wick sisters, Mrs. Coddington, Mrs. Ada Baker, Mrs. Grace Jensen, Mrs. May Laursen and Mrs. Lydia Lar-sen Lar-sen will 'be the hostesses. The American Fork camp will meet at 2 o'clock the same day, at the home of Mrs. Jesse M. Walker. The program will include the life history of the late William Marshall, Mar-shall, by his daughter, Mrs. Moral Steele, and songs by Don Steele. Mrs. Merling D. Clyde will give the Lesson. Hostesses will be Mrs. George F. Shelley, Mrs. John Smith, Mrs. Adeline Addis, and Mrs. Walker. Walk-er. A cordial invitation is extended extend-ed for all members to attend. A smart social affair of the spring season was the tea and art exhibit given by the Room mothers of the Parent-Teachers association which was held in the Harrington Amusement Amuse-ment Hall May 1. Decorations Mrs. Earl Holmstead Mrs. Glenn Baker, Mrs. Erwin Wride Mrs. Frank Shelley. Tea Table Mrs. Elijah Chipman, Mrs. Lloyd Tregaskis, Mrs. Kenneth Singleton. The serving table was covered with a lovely cluny. lace cover. On the center of the table a bowl filled with pink and white sweetpeas and roses and on either end of the table were salmon pink candlesticks to match. Presiding at the punch bowl were Mrs. Walter Devey, Mrs. Sherman Robinson, Mrs. George Skinner and Mrs. Alvin Monson. Special musical numbers for the afternoon were furnished by the grammar grade orchestra under the direction of Rulon Brimhall, and the high school orchestra under the direction of Kenneth J. Bird. A violin vio-lin duet by Dorothy Peck and Eloise Hansen, and a cello selection by Miss Vivian Green, accompanied by Mildred Richards. The art exhibit which was displayed dis-played by Miss Annabell Miller and Ellen Tracy and students was declared de-clared to be outstanding. It won much praise by those attending. o |
