Show Fern E. Smith Named Captain Of DUP Camp Fern Eyring Smith was elected Captain of the local Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Wednesday at the meeting of the organization held at the home of Mrs. Ardena W. Swenson in Manila. Others elected to work with Mrs. Smith are Berniece S. Mon-son, Mon-son, 1st vice Captain, Cora M. At-wood, At-wood, Second vice captain, Gertrude Gert-rude M. Richards, corresponding secretary and treasurer; Mrs. Gladys R. Hilton, recording secretary; sec-retary; Lucile H. Walker, registrar; regist-rar; Emma W. Overlade, historian; histor-ian; Cleone Kirk, chorister; Sadie A. Beck, assistant chorister, Mary C. Neves, organist; Elvira S. Ol-pin, Ol-pin, Chaplain; Minnie G. Hall, parlimentarian, Nora P. Macfar-lane, Macfar-lane, cla.ssleader; Cheerleaders, Myrtle D. Boren, chairman, .and Pearl R. West and Thea A. Jacob; Relics committee, Cleone Kirk, chairman, and Rose B. Hayes, Elvira El-vira Olpin, Ellen Hebertson and Jennie Bone; Clippings committee, Idella F. Walker, chairman, with Ellen J. Hebertson, Mabel Sykes x and Mrs. Halliday. Refreshments, Maurine Simper, chairman, Jane L. Armitstead, Ray W. Christensen and Virgia Young. The election was presided over by Mrs. Hannah G. Adylotte, Utah County captain. Assistant County historian, Edith B. Jones was also present. In connection with the election, regular class work included three histories given by Mrs. Minnie Hall, and a fine lesson from Louisa Lou-isa Barnes Pratt's journal was given by Mrs. Fern E. Smith.
