S. Chipman and H. W. Jacobs: W. L. Chipman of American ForK; H. D. Landes Jr. of Salt Lake City; and Wesley Jense of Pleasant Grove. Following the stockholders meeting meet-ing there was a directors meeting called for the purpose of electing officers: The following officers being be-ing elected: H. D. Landes Sr. president; W. L. Chipman, vice-1 president. Wesley Jense was appointed ap-pointed manager to fill the vacancy caused by the death of H. W. Jacobs. Mr. Landes the newly elected President stated that it would be the policy of the company to carry car-ry on as it has done in the past, with the possibility of further ex-panison. ex-panison. Mr. Landes is one of Utah's out-k out-k standing business men, having for-mcrly for-mcrly owned and operated the , Landes Tractor and Machinery Co., --which he reticently sold and which he "operated for forty years. He is also owner and operator of one j of the largest cattle ranches in the State of Utah which comprises forty for-ty thousand acres and has appro- : ximately 2000 head of registered cattle. Mr. Landes is the largest stock-' stock-' holder in the Pleasnt Grove Can-t Can-t ning Company, and while in Pleas-r Pleas-r ant Grove Tuesday stated that he can see great possibilities in the J canning industry in this section. The new manager, "Wesley Jense , has been in the employ of Pleas-j Pleas-j ant Grove Canning Company for 1 approximately sixteen years, hav- ing worked in the fctory and processing pro-cessing departments during the early part of his employment. For l the past five years he has been office manager and treasuurer of X the company and for the past year y he has been assistant manager, o: During the time he has been em-ployed em-ployed by the canning company he I has taken a very active part in a the community affair of Pleasant K Grove, Ibeing a member of the local tc Lions club, and preident of that t- organization in 1941-4S and also an- active member of the lotal Cham-c Cham-c ber of Commerce.
