Show Al l, SESSIONS OF CONFERENCE ARE WELL ATTENDED All sessions of the Timpanogos Stake Quarterly Conference held Sunday, April 2, were exceptionally well attended. Tiie first session was a welfare, workers' meeting and opened at 8.30 a. m- in the church offices. The first general session began at 10 o'clock with President M. S. Christiansen directing and Presiding Presid-ing Patriarch Joseph F. Smith and Elder Orvil Stott, chairman of the Church Welfare Committee representing repre-senting the General Authorities of the Church. Music was furnished by the Provo Third Ward Choir, directed bv Alfred A. Swensen. The opening open-ing number, sung by the choir was "God So Is-vei The World." Invocation was offered by Bishop Joseph S. Walker of the Third Ward. Next the choir sang, "Pilgrims Chorus." Report on Aaronics Priesthood work was made by M. S. Christiansen. Christ-iansen. First speaker was P.-itriareh D-B. D-B. Thorne of Timpanogos Stake. He was followed by Elder Eugene Harvey recently returned from the Central States Mission Field. Dr. J. O. Meeks talked in behalf be-half of the men in the service am! their families, stressing the thof cf what the gospel means to the boys away from home Elder Stott gave a rep-irt on the Welfare Work of tri; Onurch and explained the plans thereof. Presiding Patriarch Smith spoke feelingly on the need of spiritual fj!dnce and the urgent need to .yri'e the worth-while things, d ignore the unimportant things. T.. choir sang the closing num-,er num-,er rnd benediction was pronounced pronoun-ced by Bishop Merrill N. War-mck. War-mck. The Priesthood session was held at 2 o'clock in the First Ward Chapel, where matters pertaining to the priesthood and welfare program pro-gram were discussed. At the second general session held at 7.30 p. m. President M. S. Christiansen conducted. The session sess-ion opened with the congregation inging, "How Firm A Foundation" directed by Stake Chorister E. A. Beck, and accompanied by Stake Organist Miss Jennie Gleason. Invocation In-vocation was offered by A. P. Warrick of the Stake High Council. Coun-cil. Officers were presented for sustaining sus-taining by Stake Clerk M. D. Radmall. The first speaker was President Wm. C. Smith, who spoke on the Welfare program and what it means to Church members. He was followed by Bishop J. A. West. Lee Warnick and Norman Wright, who gave brief talks.
