Show Pleasant Grove Locals j Mrs. Settie Houston is visiting in Salt Lake City with Mrs. Dell Terry and other relatives. Mrs. Rozella Wadley is ill at the home of her daughter, Mina Wadley Mickelson, at Draper. Hoyt Allred of Hawthorn, California, Califor-nia, is visiting with his father, Eugene Eu-gene Allred, and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Sjoberg and family were guests Sunday of Mrs. Sjoberg's mother, Mrs. Regina Thorne. Junius J. Hayes and son, Keith, of Salt Lake City, spent the week-end with Mr. Hayes' mother, Mrs. Rose B. Hayes. Wesley Dickerson, a student at the U. A. C. at Logan, was selected to represent the school at Portland, Oregon, at the Oregon State Fair. Mr. and Mrs. Rondy B. Mrs. Berley West has spent the past ten days in Salt Lake visiting with her daughter and family. Mrs. Vilate West returned last' Friday from a ten days visit with her daughter at Blanding, Utah-Mr. Utah-Mr. and Mrs- Roland Jacobs have moved to Salt Lake City to attend the U. of U. the coming winter-Mr. winter-Mr. and Mrs. George have moved into the home of Mrs. Rose B- Hayes. S. hospital in Salt Lake, where he recently was operated on for an injured bone in the leg. He will be confined to his home for some time. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. ' The Utah-Juab Firemen's Association Associa-tion will hold their next meeting at Eureka on Sunday, October 6th. A number of the local firemen are planning to attend. Mr. and Mrs. J. Wallace West and Mr. and Mrs. D. A. West of Salt Lake City, were guests Sunday of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nathaniel West, and other relatives. Mr and Mrs. Jesse K. Thorne a banquet Monday evening given lor state fair winners by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce at their club rooms. Jones entertained enter-tained Monday evening at a luncheon lunch-eon and family reunion in honor of Mrs. Jones' parents, President and Mrs. James M. Kirkham of the East-Central East-Central State mission. Mrs. Irvin Hooley entertained at a birthday social Saturday, in honor hon-or of the eighth anniversary of her rtane-hter. Edna. Nineteen boys and girls enjoyed outdoor games and delicious refreshments. The Misses Edna and Lucille Fugal left Saturday for a trip to California. Edna, who has been employed in the Utah Power and Light company's office, is on vacation. - They expect to be gone about ten days. The following young people from the Manila ward are attending the B. Y. U. this winter: George Warnick, War-nick, Calvin Swenson, Bryce Wadley, Loraine and Laura Swenson and Lucy Wadley. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ludlow and Mr. and Mrs. Peter Okerman of Benjamin, Ben-jamin, and Jess Whipple and daughter daugh-ter of Overton, Nevada, were among the out of town guests at the funeral of Dale Olson last Friday. The Alhambra Theatre presented "Ruggles of Red Gap", to crowded houses the past week. Wednesday evening the play with Sylvia Sidney In "Behold My Wife" will be presented. present-ed. Mr. Wootton always tries to pick niavs for the Alhambra which are winners. A lecture, with illustrated lantern slides, on the temples of the L. D. S. church was given hi the Second ward chapel last Sunday evening by Mr. Hanson of Provo. The lecture was much appreciated by a large audience. Mr. and Mrs. Bee Cobbley announce an-nounce the arrival of a fine baby boy on September 27, at the home of its grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Armitstead. Mrs. Cobbley, before her marriage, was Miss Ruth Armitstead. Armit-stead. The members of the Timpanogos stake Relief Society board are planning plan-ning to attend Relief Society con- ference at Salt Lake city Wednesday Wednes-day and Thursday. The officers are Mrs. Ella M. Cragun, Mrs. Cora W. Atwood, Mrs. Bemice Monson, Mrs. Jennie W. Johnson, Mrs. Elizabeth Bullock, Mrs. May K. Walker and Mrs. Mary Cooper. The Manila ward Relief Society-held Society-held their opening social Tuesday afternoon. The program consisted of a welcome talk by President Mary Monson; solo, Eleanor South wick; talk Nettie Warnick, and opening of the penny banks to collect Relief Society So-ciety magazine subscriptions. Mrs. Cora Atwood was in charge of games and amusements. Mrs. Elsie Swenson Swen-son and Mrs. Inez Eaves were in charge of the defreshments. |
