Show City Flower Growers Meet Success at Fair American Fork was well to the front in the flower exhibit section of the Utah County Fair at Provo Friday and Saturday. This city took the exhibit sweep-stake. Individual winners based on a point system were led by Mrs. Rudolph Clark of this city who received 47 points. Miss Mary Kirkwood second with 40 points and Mrs. Zelma Beardall of Springville third with 17 points. Mrs. J. P. Fugal of Pleasant Grove was in charge of this section of the fair. The Utah State Training School did themselves proud in a generous and beautiful display of flowers, which were shown only to assist in making the fair attractive and not for competition in awards. The applied arts, handwork and wood work booth, exhibiting the work of the students at the school proved an unusual attraction and drew forth very favorable comment. com-ment. Alpine district won first place in the handicraft section of the booth arranged by the Timpanogos Boy Scout council, in which the scouts of the council exhibited handicraft, nature collections and miniature models of scout camps. |
