Show City TickctsTcT 15e Named Monday Both political parties have set Monday evening as the date for their primaries, the Democrats meeting in the city hall and the Republicans in the Forbes School building. This is the last day on which tickets may be filed with the city recorder and were evidently selected by both parties par-ties so as not to grant the other party any advantage in building a ticket. City politicians on .both sides are striving to line up the strongest tickets possible mid choose men and women who will give the city an aggressive administration for the coming two years. Each side hopes to select candidates who will be elected. To date there has been little canvassing in a public way but the "inside" party work has been under way for some time. The party leaders have been laying the "foundation"' "foun-dation"' and gathering public sentiment senti-ment to get the right candidates lined np. It is expected that a large number num-ber of citizens will be in attendance at both primaries Monday and considerable interest is expected to be shown in the naming of the two tickets. Little discussion is yet heard on the prohibition question locally which question must be voted on at the city election on November 7th. Advocates for and against the repeal re-peal of the 18th Ammendment are heard occasionally but it is yet too early to get an indication of the possible vote that win be cast on this question in our district. |
