Mr. and Mrs. Glen Austin, Mrs. William Conder, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Condor motored to Gunnison Sunday Sun-day to visit William Conder, who is employed at the sugar factory there. Mrs. Maude Thornton, Mrs. Nell Finns and T.Hss Irene Binns motored motor-ed to 0;fii-n Calurdiiy evening, stay- J ing ovcrui",ht at the home of Mr. and Mis. Niles jiinns. At the Binns : liome they enjoyed a turkey dinner Sunday afternoon, and later saw a movie. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Baird and Mr and Mrs. Leo G. Meredith wen guests at a dinner party at the William Eldredge home in Salt Lake City, on Thursday of last week. Mr. and Mrs. Leo G. Meredith and daughter Carma spent Thanksgiving day in Brigham City, as guests oi Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Knudson. Mr Meredith plans to join a duck-hunting party today and go to the hunting hunt-ing area near the bird sanctuary. Guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Kirkpatrick for Thanksgiving day dinner were Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Datchelor of Salt Lake City, Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nichols of Riverton, Mr. and Mrs. William Kirkpatrick and Mr. and Mrs. Alma Olsen. Shelter for a "door-step girl" was given by Mrs. Mary Nielsen early Monday morning, as the result of a strange incident. Mrs. Nielsen was aroused at 2 a. m. to find a tearful girl of 15, who had been brought by her drunken father from Salt Lake City, and then turned out from his car. With permission of Night Marshal Mar-shal Albert Birk, Mrs. Nielsen took the girl in, and Monday morning saw that she was safely returned home. Misses Afton and Lucille Muir, University of Utah freshmen and I daughters of M. B. Muir of Alpine, have pledged membership in Jacin-the Jacin-the de L'Azure, a women's friendship friend-ship organization on the U campus. Tne Ladies' Literary club will meet at the home of Mrs. Abe Gudmund-sen, Gudmund-sen, at 2:30 p. m., December 1. All members are invited to be present. Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Joy of Salt Lake City visited Sunday and Monday Mon-day at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Sweeten. Frank Jackson, who has been ill for some time, has returned to his work at the Chipman Mercantile company implement department. Mrs. Carl E. Peterson, accompanied accom-panied by her son, Carl Don, arrived in American Fork this week for an sxtended visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bate. She expects to remain here six weeks. Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Shepherd of Paris, Idaho, arrived in American Fork Monday evening, for an extended ex-tended visit during the Thanksgiving Thanksgiv-ing holiday season. While here they will be the guests of relatives and friends. Mrs. Shepherd is the former form-er Sadie Bromley. Members of the family of Bishop and Mrs. T. A. Greenwood, and Mrs. Greenwood's father, David Losee of Lehi, and sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Davis of Salt Lake City, enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner at the Greenwood home. |
