Show Literary Club Honors Former Citizen In keeping with the program adopted adop-ted by the Ladies Literary club, whereby at each monthly meeting short sketches of the' lives of persons per-sons bom in American Fork who have achieved success in their chosen chos-en vocations are given, the following was presented by Mrs. William Chip-nran. Chip-nran. She chose the life of Mrs. Reva Beck Bosone, well known in this city, a daughter of Mrs. Zilpha Beck and the late C. M. Beck. The sketch follows: Reva Beck Bosone was born in American Fork of pioneer parentage of 1847. Her elementary education was received in American Fork, fol- lowing which she entered Westminister Westmin-ister College at Salt Lake for her junior work and completed her senior sen-ior duties at the University of California, Cali-fornia, at Berkeley, and was graduated gradu-ated with a B. A. Degree. Returning Return-ing to Utah she accepted a position as a high school teacher in Ogden and was head of the Public Speaking Speak-ing department, her students twice being awarded first place in public speaking, and dramatic art; reflecting reflect-ing much credit upon the teacher. Her law course was completed a' the University of Utah, perfecting her three year legal course in tw and one half years and she wa; graduated from the law school o the University of Utah with an I L. B. Degree in the class of 1930. At the University of Utah she me and became engaged to Joe P. Bo sone, a Salt Lake attorney, and wa married on October 8th, 1929, an to this happy union came a little daughter. Following completion of her legal studies she made her home in Helper, practiced law in Carbon county one year and a half. Returning Return-ing to Salt Lake, Mrs. Bosone is practicing law and because of her splendid education and legal experiences ex-periences is one of the outstanding attorneys of the city. Mrs. Bosone served in the 20th session of the Utah legislature and is the author of the Minimum Wage and Hour law for Women and Children. At present Mrs. Bosone is president presi-dent of the Women's American-Italian League, of Salt Lake, also president presi-dent of the Housewife's Council, vice president of the Consumers Welfare League of Utah, and an active member mem-ber of the Salt Lake County Relief committee. At the Democratic County Convention Conven-tion recently she received the nomination nomi-nation for the position of State Representative Rep-resentative on the first ballot. She has lived most of her adult life in Salt Lake. Mrs. Bosone studied political and economic conditions, both at home and in various coun- tries of Europe, and has always been a student of civic government. She 1 is a mother, a householder and a taxpayer of Salt Lake City, and any 1 community can well be proud of the : achievements of our own Reva. |
