Show Valued Citizen Called by Death Mrs. Ruth Elizabeth Graves Wid-does, Wid-does, 73," wife of J. W. Widdoes, died at the family residence here at 12:15 a. m. Friday after an illness of six months of heart trouble. Mrs. Wid-; Wid-; does had not enjoyed good health 'for the past five years, j Mrs. Widdoes was bom in Indiana, j July 26, . 1860, a daughter of Lawson ;and Parphena Olipaknt Graves. She was married to Mr. Widdoes May 3, , 1898, and for 15 years they made jUtah their home, living here eight years since coming from Delta. Dur-:ing Dur-:ing her residence here she has en-'deared en-'deared herself to many who mourn her passing. ! Surviving, besides her husband, are !a son and a daughter, Oliver V. Sex-'son Sex-'son and Mrs. Edith Dupree, Calif., 'three stepdaughters, Mrs. Delia F. Evans, Iowa; lirs. Olive M, Shoff, ' Moorehead, Iowa, and Myrtle Wid-'does, Wid-'does, Calif crnia; also three grandchildren. grand-children. ! Funeral services were held Sunday 'afternoon commencing at 4 o'clock !in the Fourth ward chapel with ! Bishop Lot Robinson in charge. I There was a splendid attendance and many floral tributes reflecting the respect for this good woman. A violin solo "The Prayer Perfect" was rendered by Mrs. Wilma Douglas Doug-las of Salt Lake, accompanied by Miss Lois Greenwood, and the invo-I invo-I cation was offered by S. L. Chipman. A quartette comprised of Mrs. Ora 'Chipman, Mrs. La Rue Morton, ' Glade Jorgensen and Kenneth Rob-! Rob-! inson sang "Jesus Lover Of My Soul" 'with Miss Greenwood as accompanist. accompan-ist. I The first speaker was Leo T. Shelley Shel-ley and following his remarks Mrs. 'Edith Young sang "No Night There" accompanied by her daughter, Miss Edith Young. ' President Clifford E. Young was the other speaker. A vocal solo j"Lay My Head Beneath the Rose", by Moral D. Steele, accompanied by Miss Fern Robinson followed. The closing prayer was offered by Earl S. Greenwood. - : -r Interment was made in the City cemetery where the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Bishop Lot Robinson. |
