Mr. and Mrs. Clark Chipman are; the happy parents of a baby daugh- tcr, born Monday in the Lehi Hospital. Hospi-tal. Mother and babe are doing nicely. Mr. and Mrs. August Lewis and children have moved to Provo to make their home. Mr. Lewis has been In charge of the Cobblestone Service Station which soon is to be removed to make way for the new road turn under construction. Mrs. Wilson Cunningham left Wednesday for Salt Lake to visit with her sister. Mrs. W. J. Morrison. The Morrisons recently have returned return-ed to Salt Lake to reside having been in Orange, California, the past several years. Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Johnson of Salt Lake are spending two weeks here from Salt Lake City, Mr. Johnson John-son is from the Western Electric Co. and is attending to some work in the local telephone office. Mrs. Ray Rosebraugh of Salt Lake is spending this week here with her mother, Mrs. James Chipman, who recently returned from an eastern trip. Mrs. Rosebraugh came last week to make arrangements for her daughter, Miss Nan Chipman, to attend at-tend school here. Mi's. I. L. Pratt was hostess last Thursday afternoon to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veteran Volunteer Firemen. The social was in the form of a quilting party held in the Veteran Firemen's hall in Salt Lake A delicious lunch was served late in the afternoon. Thirty one ladies attended. Monday night a concert and vaudeville vau-deville program was given the men of the C. C. C. Camp F-5, American Fork canyon by the Americans orchestra or-chestra and their entertainers, "Bun" Shelley and "Tab" Grant. The orchestra played a number of selections selec-tions and Messrs. Grant and Shelley entertained with songs and jokes. Mrs. Mary Humphries was their accompanist. ac-companist. Albert Johnson of the camp was responsible for the program. pro-gram. Clarence Grant, local agent of the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co., left Wednesday evening in company with eighteen other representatives of the Salt Lake District and representatives rep-resentatives from the Ogden, Logan and Pocatello districts, about ninety in all, for Colorado Springs, where they will be the guests of the company com-pany at a sales conference there this week-end. The party will be home by Monday morning, making the trip via the Union Pacific line. j Misses Leona Kelly, Thelma Larson, Lar-son, Sadie Nelson and Erma Green i spent .last Sunday in the capitol city. They called upon Mrs. Lyean Johnson John-son (Sytha West) of Pleasant Grove i in the L. D. S. Hospital who has a jnew baby daughter. i Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sjostedt, who have spent the past year in Missouri, visited with Mr. and Mrs. I. L. Pratt here enroute to Price where they will reside. Mrs. Sjostedt's sister died in Missouri and the Sjostedts jare rearing her baby. ! Marion Robinson, son of Mr. and All's. M. C. Robinson, with his friend, Cliff Martin of this city, returned home Thursday of last week from a three week's visit with relatives of Mr. Robinson in Chicago. The boys took in the World's Fair and enjoyed their trip immensely. Mrs. Ervin Makin spent the weekend week-end in Salt Lake, attending the marriage of her grandson, Frank S. ; Makin son of Mr. Ervin Makin Jr. The marriage took place at the home of the bride, Miss Mary Cooms, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Cooms, all of Salt Lake. i Mrs. James Chipman has returned home after spending the past two months in Albion, Pennsylvania, with her sister, Mrs. E. C. Wasser. j Mrs. Chipman's sister accompanied her to Chicago where they spent a week visiting the World's Fair and ' other points of interest. |
