Show Ten Month Old Baby Dies Melvin R. Smith 10-month-old son of Russell and Irene Johnson Smith, died at their home suddenly September 14th, of heart failure. The baby was in his walking chair in apparent good health and the mother had .gone outside on an errand. er-rand. She heard the baby cry and sent her daughter, Joan, to see what was the matter with the child. Returning Joan reported the baby to be asleep. Mrs. Smith rushed in at once and found the baby dead. He is survived by one sister, Joan, and his parents. Funeral services were held Sunday at 12 noon in the Lindon ward chapel with Bishop David B. Thome, conducting the ' services. , j A quartette composed of Elroy and i Morel Gillman, Arvel Anderson and (Burnell West sang, "Shall We Meet I Beyond the River." The invocation jwas offered by John S. Steiner, followed fol-lowed by a solo, "I Think When I !Read That Sweet Story of Old;', by jMrs. May R. Walker, j The speakers were Roy Beckstead ' of the South Jordan ward, Elroy Gillman, Ezra F. Walker and closing ! remarks by Bishop David B. Thome, j Other musical numbers were a duet "Don't Forget That Jesus Loves Us" by Zelmar Hair and Dorius Rogers, and the closing song, a duet, "Day Follows Night" by Mrs. May R. Walker and her son, Jesse Walker. !The benediction was pronounced by Lester G. West. Interment was in Pleasant Grove cemetery, where the grave was dedicated dedi-cated by Vem Cullimore. |
