Show 0 Young Musician Paid Final Tribute Church and civic organizations and the many relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Halliday and family joined in humble respects at the funeral services for Junior Halliday Hal-liday held Wednesday afternoon in the Second ward chapel. Junior died at his home here Sunday at 4:30 p. m. following a sinus operation performed July 6. Born February 14, 1921, he was reared in a home dedicated to love and service. He grew to young manhood man-hood with a great desire to do what is right and give of his talents any service possible. A talented musician, Junior had been active in musical circles for a number of years. He played his flute as a member of the city band and the high school band and orchestra, or-chestra, also at various church and civic functions. He was an honor student at the Junior high school where he completed the 9th grade last May. He was an active Boy Scout, Priesthood worker and other organizations also felt his sustaining sustain-ing influence. Surviving are his parents, W. R. and May West Halliday; two sisters, Nina and Naomi Halliday, all of this city, and a grandmother, Mrs. Eleanor West, of Pleasant Grove. Bishop Joseph Storrs was in charge of the services Wednesday. The ward chapel was filled to capacity ca-pacity with many of those who would join their sympathy with the bereaved. The members of the Priesthood quorum, of which Junior Jun-ior was a member, and their leader, Lloyd Wagstaff, were seated in a group on the stand. The following program was carried car-ried out as announced by the bishop: "Oh My Father" sung by a mixed chorus, Kenneth Robinson singing the solo; prayer, Lloyd Wagstaff; solo, "I Think When I Read That Sweet Story of Old" by Mary Martin Mar-tin Hansen. Remarks were made by Lloyd B. Adamson, principal of the Junior high school. President Clifford E. Young and Bishop Storrs. Leland Priday played a beautiful violin solo and Rulon Nicholes sang the closing number, "In My Father's House Are Many-Mansions." Many-Mansions." The benediction was pronounced by Gunner Rasmunsen. Interment was made in the American Amer-ican Fork city cemetery, where the grave was dedicated by Bishop Junius A West of Pleasant Grove. o |
