Show W. Bert Scott of Hollywood flew to Salt Lake City last week and visited vis-ited with his mother there and with his brother. Chris S'cott, in American Amer-ican Fork. The Stake Priesthood and union meeting of the Relief Society and Primary will be held Sunday at 2 P. m. in the stake tabernacle. This being the first meeting since the ' summer vacation period. Miss Ruth Gaisford has returned to California, where she plans to attend school this winter. Miss Gaisford visited for the past ten days with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gaisford. Mrs. L. B. Adamson entertained the officers and teachers of the Fourth ward Mutual Improvement association and the members of the bishopric at her home Tuesday evening. eve-ning. Doane of Pleasant Grove is moving into the Green apartments where Mr. and Mrs. Booth lived. A recent meeting of the Kensington Kensing-ton Society .'of the Community Church was held at the home of Mrs. Sarah Dixon. Mr. and Mrs. Nile Smith and two children of Venice, Calif., are visiting visit-ing at the home of Mr. Smith's parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Smith. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ellison and Mr. and Mrs. Prank Humphries spent Labor Day in Salt Lake City and at the Salt Beds where Ab Jenkins was making his endurance race. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Peterson entertained en-tertained at a chicken supper Monday Mon-day evening, the guests being Mr. and Mrs. Clark Conder and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Timpson. Mrs. Morris Montgomery and baby daughter of Los Angeles, are visiting visit-ing at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Abel. Mrs. Montgomery Mont-gomery was formerly Miss Etta Abel. George Ovard left yesterday for his home in Canada after spending the summer months visiting in Salt Lake and American Fork. Mr. Ovard is a brother of Mrs. S. P. Grant and Mrs. A. F. Smith. Midshipman Virgil E. Stice of the U. S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland, arrived in American Fork last Friday for a short vacation with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. j. Stice and other relatives and friends here. Virgil has been on the summer cruise sailing from New York June 5th. The fleet visited France, England Eng-land and Sweden, the crew visiting in London, Paris, Gootsberg and other large cities. Returning to Annapolis August 27, the students disembarked for leave of absence. Virgil is smiling and says he thoroughly enjoys the Naval Academy Acade-my but is glad to be home for a visit. Grant represented the Ladies Literary club and the Junior Literary League of American Fork at a meeting of the First District of Women's Clubs held at the Women's Club House in Provo Friday afternoon. Mrs. A. B. Allen was hostess to fifteen members of the Sorosis club and her mother, Mrs. Lewis Garrett, Gar-rett, at a social at the home of Mrs. Sadie Bromley Friday afternoon. Bridge was the main diversion, Mrs. Lillie Wilde winning the high score award and Mrs. Lawrence Briggs the second favor. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lee visited in American Fork Wednesday and attended the funeral services of Junior Jun-ior Halliday. Mr. and Mrs. Lee are living in Eureka but have a host, of friends in this city where they lived for a number of years. Mr. Lee is a former employee of the IHalliday & Robinson store. Leo Meredith and M. L. Baird gave an interesting illustrated lecture lec-ture in the First ward Sunday evening. eve-ning. The subject with pictures was their recent trip to Rhode Island and points of interest in the East. They also have a number of pictures pic-tures of the Poultry Day celebration celebra-tion of last month. Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Hindley received re-ceived word Wednesday of the birth of a baby boy, September 6th, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Kirkham of Hollywood, California. Mrs. Kirkham was formerly Miss Mona Hindley. Mr. and Mrs. Allen Brockbank and son of Spanish Fork were visitors visi-tors Sunday at the home of Mrs. Lillian Booth. Mrs.. Ellen Reams of Gunnison spent the past week-end at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. H. Holm-stead Holm-stead and family. Miss Beth Hutchings spent the past week-end visiting at. Boise, Idaho. Mr. and Mrs. Orin Ashton and daughter, Faye, and Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Ashton and baby were week-end visitors in Blackfoot, Idaho Ida-ho and Pocatello, Idaho. ' Mr. and Mrs. Carl D.
