Miss Lois Greenwood, who is teaching at Nebo this year, is spending spend-ing the week here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earl S. Greenwood. Because of storms there last week the students are out for beet week this week. I Mr. and Mrs. Rulon Taylor and family of Garfield, were visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Grant. Halliday and daughter, Nina, Mr. and Mrs. Junius West and Eleanor West of Pleasant Grove will attend the wedding of their niece, Miss Lucile West, and Mr. Harold Johnson of Cedar City, at the Lions House in Salt Lake City tonight. i Mrs. A. W. Clyde spent the week in Nephi with her daughter, Mrs. Clarence Goweis. Mrs. Frank Brown and her mother, moth-er, Mrs. Orvilla Jones, of Lehi, spent Wednesday in Salt Lake on business. Mrs. Samuel Walker of Pleasant Grove, spent several days here visiting visit-ing at the home of her mother, Mrs. Vern Beck. Miss Mildred Greenwood and Miss Verda Miller Mr. Joseph Bowman Bow-man of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday Sun-day in Logan with Miss Mary Walton, Wal-ton, who is attending college there. Dr. and Mrs. V. F. Houston and family, Mrs. Thomas Coddington, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Meredith and Mrs. Mark Coddington spent Sunday at the Coddington Ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bate and daughter, Mildred, and Mrs. J. E. Chadwick spent the week-end in Lego, Idaho, visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steele. Mrs. J. E. Hoyle and son, Blaine, and daughter, Connie, spent the week at Provo with Mrs. Hoylc's sister, Mrs. Wandle Openshaw, while Mr. Hoyle and son, Jack, and Mr. Openshaw were hunting deer. Mr. and Mrs. G. 11. Gordon and daughter, Donna, left Wednesday for a vacation in Idaho and Nevada. They will visit relatives in Blackfoot and Berkeley, Idaho, and In Logan. Mr. Gordon is taking his vacation from his work at the Utah Power A: Light Company. Mrs. J. E. Chadwick was hostess to the B. B. Club members at her home Friday afternoon. Bridge was played, Mrs. Lenard Pett winning high score prize and Mrs. Frank Bush second prize. A delicious dinner din-ner was served late in the afternoon. Mrs. Walter Durrant entertained the First ward Primary officers and teachers at her home Friday evening. eve-ning. The time was spent discussing work concerning the Primary conference con-ference to be held November 2BLh after which light refreshments were served. , Mr. and Mrs. Alloa U. Clark and family, Mrs. Laurence Nielsen, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Ilallsey and daughter, daugh-ter, Colleen, all of Salt Lake City, and Mrs. Stanley Peters were dinner Kuests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James F. Ilallsey Sunday. Mrs. David Calm was hostess to , members of the Variety Club Thursday Thurs-day evening. A business lneetiiiK was held for the purpose of discussing their winter activities and installing new officers. Mrs. Fearl Cunningham Cunning-ham was elected president and Mrs. Ethel Nlcholes as secretary-treasurer. Late in the evening the members mem-bers were seated at a long table covered with a linen cloth ind centered cen-tered with a low bowl filled with fall flowers and served a delicious lunch. Local women were guest.s of the Utah Tower & Light Co. Friday afternoon af-ternoon at a cooking school held In the company kitchen In I'rovo. The advantages of electrical cooking were demonstrated and a discussion of the electric stove given. A delicious de-licious luncheon was enjoyed, after which the group was taken to Provo canyon and conducted through the "Home of Ideas."
