Howard Paxman and Joe Clayson of this city and Dan Peterson of Pleasant Grove, returned Monday from a two day trip to Twin Falls, Idaho, where they visited with Will Wright. Members of the Robert E. King family and their posterity, enjoyed an outing at Saratoga Sunday afternoon after-noon and evening. An impromptu program was carried out, followed by a delicious open air supper. About sixty persons were present. Miss Pearl Jorgensen, of American Fork, visited Boulder dam on July 5, in company with 35 other students in a bus. Five members of the Happy Nine club and their partners went to the dance at Saratoga Saturday night. The party consisted of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Peters, Dr. and Mrs. Culver B. Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. Elmo Peters, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Chadwick and Mr. and Mrs. David Warnick. Several families of American Fork, enjoyed the 4th and week-end in Yellowstone park fishing and enjoy- Am. Fork Locals Mrs. Glen Boley and daughter, La-Belle, La-Belle, returned to their home here Tuesday after being in Provo for the past week where Miss LaBelle underwent under-went an operation for mastoid trouble. trou-ble. She is feeling much better. Harold Anderson left Sunday for a visit in Salt Lake City with his friend, Floyd Hayes. Mr. Hayes has visited here for the past ten days. Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alma Olsen on July 4th were Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Batchelor of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Nicholes of Riverton. Miss Lydia Olsen returned to Salt Lake with her 6lster and stayed until Sunday. Miss Melba Barratt has been sent to Juab county to take the place of the F. E. R. A, nurse who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Wilde have left for a vacation trip to Bryce canyon can-yon and Boulder City. They will visit in Kanab with Miss Emily Brown. Misses Sarah Earl and Bessie Kelley left Sunday for California on a vacation trip. They will visit in Los Angeles, San Diego and other points of interest for about ten days. Mrs. Charles Peck and Mrs. George Hunter left Friday with their nephew, Howard Thrasher, for Hy-nes, Hy-nes, California, on a two weeks' visit with their sister, Mrs. Bessie Thrasher Thrash-er Tompson. LaVon Earl sailed July 3rd at 12 noon from New York harbor, aboard the S. S. Washington, for Germany. The ship will also make stops at England Eng-land and France. LaVon left Salt Lake City June 27 and since that time has visited points of interest along the trip east, among others Chicago and Buffalo. At Buffalo he visited the Niagra falls and reports having enjoyed the entire trip. J. Craig Dunkley, wife and son of Maywood, California, are vacationing vacation-ing in American Fork and vacinity for two weeks. They arrived at the home of Mr. Dunkley's parents, Mr. . and Mrs. J. L. Dunkley, July 4th and are enjoying their outing immensely. They will return home the first of the week accompanied by Miss Margaret Mar-garet Dunkley, who will spend a month in California. Mrs. Elmo Peters entertained Wednesday Wed-nesday afternoon for the Happy Nine Bridge Club. The afternoon was spent in playing bridge and the prize was won by Mrs. Myrtle Mof-fett, Mof-fett, a guest. After luncheon was served definite rules for the club were made and officers voted in: President, Mrs. Stanley Peters; vice president, Mrs. Leon Parduhn; secretary secre-tary and reporter, Mrs. David War-nick. A family party was held at the home of Mrs. Agries Householder in her honor Saturday night. Gordon and family and Miss Lydia Roberts, Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Wilcox, Midvale; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Deacon Dea-con and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Householder and family, Bingham; Bing-ham; Mr. and Mrs. John Hunter, Mr. and Mrs. James Vamey, Mr. and Mrs. Eron Chipman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Ray. Shelley and family and Mr. and Mrs. John Berg. Mr. and Mrs. Don Berg have moved mov-ed to the herd where they will stay for the rest of the summer. Storrs returned Sunday from Los Angeles where they were called ten days ago On account of the serious illness of their brother, J. W. Storrs. Mr. Storrs is now improving. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Cheever were Mr. and Mrs. Ted McDaniels and three children of Magna. Mr. and Mrs. O. E. Whitley are receiving congratulations on the safe arrival of a baby boy at their home Monday night. A baby girl was bom at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wilford Steggles Sunday. All concerned are getting along nicely. The Genealogical class of the First ward enjoyed a social at the Cave Camp Monday evening. A program of games and refreshments was enjoyed en-joyed by thirty guests. Mr. and Mrs. Merland Holmstead returned Sunday from a ten day trip to Detroit, Michigan, where they purchased a new Ford coupe. Mr. and Mrs. Merland Holmstead of this city, and Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Holmstead of Lehi, spent Monday in Salt Lake visiting with Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Iverson and Mrs. Ora Putman. Tuesday afternoon a fire broke out in the woodpile of Leslie Parker. No one was home at the time but the smoke was sighted from town and Joseph Searle rushed to the place, gathering help as he went. Mr. Searle, John Jacklin and Hyrum Dennis carried water in buckets and soon had things under control. The only cause to be found was an ax which the men believed became so heated with the sun as to cause combustion. com-bustion. All of the family of Joseph L. Dunkley were visitors here July 4th. Mr. Dunkley states that it is the first time in ten years that his complete com-plete family has been together. Those present besides the parents were: L. Russell Dunkley and family, Melvin E. Miss Ora Jean Chipman is here from Pasadena, California, for an indefinite visit with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Chipman. Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Nelson of Eureka, are the proud parents of an eight pound boy, born July 2nd at their home. All concerned are getting get-ting along nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Folken and family of Salt Lake City, spent Sunday Sun-day visiting with Mrs. Folken's mother, Mrs. Caroline Miller, and sister, Mrs. Ray Andreason. Mr. and Mrs. Uorin W. Goates of Lehi, are the proud parents of a baby girl, born at the Lehi hospital July 6th. Mrs. Goates was formerly Miss Lucille McAllister of this city. Mrs. Leon Whipple and son returned re-turned to their home in Ogden, Sunday, Sun-day, after a week's visit with, her mother, Mrs. Emily Foster. Mrs. Foster accompanied them as far as Salt Lake City where she visited with her son Ivan, returning to her home Monday. The Variety club were guests of' Mrs. Emma Stiner Wednesday evening eve-ning at her home. After the evening's eve-ning's game of bridge, prizes were awarded to Miss Lillie Shatter a member, and Mrs. Edith Brown" a guest. Invited guests were Mrs Ida Conn, Mrs. Mary Humphries and Mrs. Edith Brown. Earl Wootton left July 5th by bus for Portland, Oregon, for an indefinite indefi-nite stay. Mr. and Mrs. Reed Johnson and family of Provo, were guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Lloj-d Tregas-kis Tregas-kis Tuesday. Mrs. Tregaslris served a delicious supper of Spring- Fries and new vegetables. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse M. Walker and family left July 5th for San Francisco Francis-co for a week's visit with relatives. Mr. Walker will remain on the coast for a summer school course. The family is expected home Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Tregaskls and Mr. and Mrs. John Vamey and then-families then-families enjoyed a delicious supper of pink salmon sent from Yellowstone Yellow-stone park by Mr. and Mrs. Albert Tregaskis, who are vacationing im the park. The Scouts of the Third ward returned re-turned to town Wednesday afternoon after a week's visit to Yellowstone park. They report a wonderful time, and no troubles on the entire trip, evcept some experiences with the bears in the park. j Miss Mary Pulley and her father. A. W. Pulley, returned Sunday from' a trip to Mexico City and points of interest enroute. They made the trip in company with members of the Sperry Feed people, arriving home just 16 days after leaving. "The trip was wonderful," was Mary's words in expressing it. The climate is very ideal, cool and pleasant, in fact she had opportunity tg wear her fur coat and enjoy it, Mary said. William Chadwick, president of the Utah County Bcetgrowers' organization, or-ganization, left Sunday to attend the National Farm Bureau and Boot-growers' Boot-growers' convention in Fort Collins Colorado, being held Monday, Tuesday Tues-day and Wednesday of this week Mrs. Chadwick and E.
