Mr. and Mrs- Gottleib Buhlerand Mrs. Jennie Smith were Midway visitors, vis-itors, Wednesday. Harold A- Thorne of Salt Lake City was a Pleasant Grove visitor, Wednesday. Ray Beers, who has been in Mesa, Arizona, for the past two months arrived home Saturday, much improved im-proved in health. Mr. and Mrs. Leo R. Walker and family of Garland, were guests Saturday and Sunday of Mrs. Walker's Walk-er's mother, Mrs. Regina Thorne. Alma Olpin left the first of the week for a two weeks visit with relatives rela-tives in Twin Falls, Idaho. Mrs. LaPriel B. Williams and baby of Provo are visiting with Mrs. William's parents, Mr. and Mrs. V. H. Barney. Mr. and Mrs. John C. Coulam are at the home of their son, Joseph, in Lehi this week. Joseph was operated on Monday at the Lehi hospital for hernia. At last reports he was improving im-proving nicely. Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Cooper and Miss Betty Cooper of Magna, and Mrs. Nettie Thorne of Heber were guests of Pleasant Grove relatives Sunday. Mrs. Nancy Lowe spent Sunday evening with her sister, Mrs. Jane Walker, at her Lindon home. Mrs. Lowe was enroute to her home in Beaver, after an indefinite visit with her daughter, who resides in Magna, i The district scout committee meeting meet-ing will be held tonight (.Friday) at the Seminary building. Mrs. C. L. Warnick was a weekend week-end guests of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Anderson at Logan. Mr. and Mrs. George Richards entertained Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Strong of Alpine at dinner Tuesday afternoon. Ernest Deveraux returned to Idaho Ida-ho Falls Monday, after a short visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Deveraux and other relatives. Mr- and Mrs- Francis Salzner of Salt Lake City were guests last Thursday of Mrs. Salzner's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C-L. C-L. Wamick. William Peterson, who has been at the St. Mark's hospital for the past three weeks suffering with a badly crushed hand, has been removed re-moved to his home. Art Coleman has been employed the past ten days in rebinding books for the city library. Some of the books have become worn out with use and if they are worth binding bind-ing this work can be done at a small cost. Mrs. J. W. Gillman entertained Wednesday afternoon at her home in honor of Mrs. Vernon Walker of Boise, Idaho. The afternoon was spent in social chat. Dainty refreshment refresh-ment were served- Those present were Mrs. Leonard sHarris, Mrs. Vern Gillman, Mrs. Ray Gillman, Mrs. Glen Gillman, Mrs. Frank Walker of this community, and Mr. and Mrs. Clark Conder of American Fork. Mrs. Frank Atwood entertained at a children's party Wednesday after-1 noon in honor of the sixth anniversary anniver-sary of her daughter, Anna Beth. The following little folks were present, pres-ent, Adena Beck, Douglas Beck, Bobby Bob-by Newman, David Newman, Elizabeth Eliza-beth Newman, Kay Christiansen and Carma " Christensen. Among those from Pleasant Grove who attended the marriage of Miss Arvilla Clark and Arthur Ross King of Salt Lake last Friday were, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Clark and family, Harold Clark, S, L. Swenson and Estelle Fenton. Eldon Brinley's friends will read with interest the progress the Snow Academy's team is making this season sea-son under Eldon's able coaching. Its latest triumph was with the Ricks college in a deadlocked score 44-44. Two extra periods resulted in a winning win-ning score for Snow. Mr. and Mrs. Elvin Thorne entertained enter-tained at dinner last Saturday evening, eve-ning, after which an evening of progressive pro-gressive games was enjoyed by Mr. and Mrs. Art Gotberg, and Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Grenig of Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. H. Shelby West is winning basketball honors for the U. S. A. C. The U. S. A. C. won the game from Wyoming. Mrs. Elizabeth Crystal and the Misses Reva and Mary Jense enter- tained at a social last Wednesday at the Jense home. The color scheme was green and white motifs of St. Patrick's day. The same color scheme was carried out in the luncheon. lunch-eon. The evening was spent in progressive pro-gressive games and social chat. Hardman, Helen Smith, Marjorie Holdaway, Lillian Sjoberg, Jennie Walker and the hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Harold S. Walker entertained at a birthday dinner Sunday, March 8, in honor of Mrs. Walker's father, J. L. Harvey's 81st birthday. The dinner table was centered with a huge birthday cake, with rose bud trimmings. The afternoon after-noon and early evening hours were spent in reminiscences of earlier days and visiting together. Those invited were, Mr. Harvey's sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Theo-dore Sundberg, Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Chipman and family, Mr. and Mrs. Robert McCome, Dr. and Mrs. Dean A. Harvey and families of Salt Lake City; Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Harvey and family of Pleasant Grove. Mr. Harvey Har-vey received a number of beautiful gifts. A very enjoyable time was reported. |
