Show New Bishopric Named In The Fourth Ward Bishop Lot Robinson was released from office Sunday evening after serving as bishop of the Fourth! ward for the past eight years. John j Pulley was sustained as bishop, tak-1 nig over the work of Bishop Robin- i son. Daniel Jorgensen and Francis ! Abel were sustained as counselors to Bishop Pulley. Tire retiring counselors coun-selors are James E. Peters and Adolphus Pulley. Bishop Robinson served for two years as ward clerk from January! 1922 to April 22, 1924, when he was chosen to the bishopric as first counselor to Bishop Greenwood j which position he held for fourj years. O.n August 5, 1928, he was sustained bishop with Thomas Cod-! dington and J. E. Peters as counselors. counse-lors. At the death iof Mr. Codding-' ton in 1931, Adolphus Pulley was called to the bishopric as second counselor and J. E. Peters advanced to first counselor. Bishop Robinson states that the ward is in good financial condition at this time. During the time he has been in office the ward house has been renovated, repainted and new lights installed. The ward officers inaugurated a building fund and served a banquet to the Lions of the Western Division a few years ago, also took over a turkey picking project neting a total of $700. This amount suffered a depreciation at the time the Chipman Bank closed, and at the present time the ward has a building fund of over $666. j Bishop Robinson has been devoted to his work and at all times endeavored en-deavored to perform his duties in a conscientious manner. He has always had the welfare of the peo-i peo-i pie of the ward as his first thoughts, jcounciling with the leaders to assist in any way possible all projects that ! would benefit the ward members. The auxiliary organizations were left as organized for the present but some changes are contemplated within the next few weeks as some resignations have been deferred pending the reorganization of the bishopric. The new bishopric is comprised of 1 three energetic men and the affairs of the ward will be handled in a progressive and businesslike manner. rt |
