Show School Central Warehouse Obtained The Alpine School District has purchased the Chipman property just north of the Boley Market in American Fork and will convert it into a central warehouse for the storing of school property and possibly possi-bly arrange a work shop for repairing repair-ing all district materials. For some time district board members mem-bers and officials have felt that a saving of considerable money could be effected if all used and damaged equipment could be gathered up from the various plants over the district and salvaged or repaired but since no central plant was had there has been no way to handle this material in the past except thru the various high school shop units. Under the proposed central plant all desks, old and broken equipment and absolete items can be brought in and much value salvaged. By maintaining a repair department it is hoped to save much materials and cut down on the repair costs. The school architect is now working work-ing out plans to remodel the present building and also a plan for a building build-ing east to the sidewalk from the present structure. This will be a work shop and will be one story high. Work on the project is expected ex-pected to start within a few weeks. n |
