Show Pleasant Grove Locals Mr. and Mrs. Merrill N. Warnick were dinner guests of Professor and Mrs. Joseph Nicholes of Provo, Wednesday. h, G. West, and Farrell West of Provo, made a business trip to Park City Wednesday. All Seminary students from Manila' Ma-nila' ward participated in the. program pro-gram given by the Seminary in the ward Sunday evening. The program was under direction of Principal W. C. Smith. Mrs Minnie I. Hodapp had the honor of reading one of her poems, at the luncheon of the League of Western writers at the B. Y. U. Monday. Mrs. Hodapp's poem was a tribute to Miss Alice L. Reynolds. Merrill N. Warnick, with Robert Webb of Lehi, participated in the Cache county dairy tour Thursday. Sunday dinner guests at the home of Bishop and Mrs. Harold M. Wright were Miss Ruby Taylor and Miss Arwella Pierce, of ElPaso, Texas. Miss Taylor and Miss Pierce are students at the B. Y. U. Phyllis West, who has been living in Salt Lake City for some time, is spending a week at her home here. Mr. and Mrs. Moss of Rockland, Idaho, called at the Ray West home early this week. Pleasant Grove residents who were selected for jury duty in the district court, which is now in session, include in-clude Olson Kirk and Viola Y. Fugal. Among the Pleasant Grove resi-dents resi-dents who attended Leadership Week activities at Brigham Young university at Provo were Mrs. Horace Hor-ace Monson, Ben Adams, Mayor and Mrs. S. A. Kirk. Mrs. Mary Emma Roberts of Lehi had the misfortune to break her leg, in a fall after the Halliday funeral here Sunday. Mrs. Roberts, a form-' form-' er worker in the Relief society of the old Alpine stake, had read a sketch at the services. Sunday guests at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Byron Adamson were Mrs. Adamson's mother, Mrs. W. R. Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Cummings, and Mrs. Rewel Carlyle of Heber City. Miss Opal Davis remained for a visit at the Adamson home. Ann Fugal and Genevieve Wright played a marimbaphone duet, at the Thatcher funeral in Provo Wednesday Wednes-day Mr. Thatcher was a victim of the airplane crash Sunday. A meeting of the Timpanogos stake Primary association board was held Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. Cora Bezzant. Among the Pleasant Grove and Lindon people who participated m the temple excursion on Friday of last week were Mrs. Ethel Carlson, Mr and Mrs. Clarence Hilton, Mrs. Huida Richins, Mr. and Mrs. Reed Walker, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Anderson Ander-son Lawrence Walker and Verda Radmall. Under direction of ' Mrs. Adena Swenson, a fine program was given in the Manila ward M. I. A. Tuesday Tues-day evening. It featured a one-act olav written by Mrs. Swenson, on "A Honie Evening". Parts were taken by Bishop and Mrs. Swenson, Gwen Adams, Calvin Swenson, El-dredge El-dredge and Marilyn Warnick, Rob-lert Rob-lert Monson and Heber Roundy. In honor of the eighteenth birthday birth-day anniversary of her daughter, LuAnn, Mrs. Rollo Thornton entertained enter-tained at a dinner party Monday afternoon. A large birthday cake featured the serving table. Covers were laid for Miss Thornton, Anna Boren, Marba Hatch, Cosette Wright, Dick Rogers, D. H. Foulke, Duane Keetch and Rusty Rogers. Among the Pleasant Grove people who participated in the Leadership Week activities at the B. Y.
